The Institute for Youth Development (IYD) initiates numerous programs
and activities, all focused on youth development and youth risk behavior

Compassion Capital Fund
Program
IYD was awarded a grant from the Federal Department of Health and
Human Services under the Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) to assist faith-based
and community organizations in competing
for federal grants.
Abstinence Education Initiative
The Institute for Youth Development is currently involved in three federally-funded projects specifically related to sexual abstinence education. These projects include a contract with the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, Health Resources and Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and two cooperative agreements from the Division of Adolescent and School Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Right Choices for Youth
Right Choices for Youth is a nationwide multi-year initiative focused on helping achieve the brightest futures by avoiding alcohol, drugs, sex, tobacco and violence. The initiative will involve a number of projects such as community coalition building; conferences and forums; networking; and building parent/child and school/child connectedness.
