Grant Opportunities Under a grant from The Department of Health and Human Services, IYD can assist faith-based and community organizations that have never received federal funding successfully compete for federal grants. These grants can help organizations serving the needs of their communities build the capacity needed to grow and expand services. While the primary focus is on faith-based and community organizations, participants may include partners that are helping them provide the social services and/or educational activities for which they are seeking funding. However, the faith-based or community organization must be the fiscal agent as well as the lead partner. Examples of such partners include, but are not limited to, institutions of higher learning, state and local education agencies, private industry, and other faith-based and community groups. Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for two rounds of funding competition in fiscal year 2006 will be posted on this site as they are available. We anticipate postings in April and June 2006. They are designed to teach applicants the process that is typically followed when competing for federal funding. At the same time, the RFPs will allow applicants to actually apply for sub-award funding to help their organization build capacity. Between 20 and 30 grants will be awarded with the average award amount being approximately $20,000. Grant Resources
